How it works:

1. Sign up

Moving to a new area is never easy. Community Concierge eases the stress of moving by connecting new arrivals with personal guidance from qualified locals, called Connectors, exclusive events at unique venues, and comprehensive online resources.

Whatever it is you’re looking for in your new community, we are here to help. Connecting with the program is free, with additional free or affordable events held frequently throughout eastern Connecticut.

It is an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT, the region’s oldest and largest collaborative of business and community leaders.

2. Learn about local favorites

Utilize your Connector for their wealth of local knowledge simply by sending an email, or perhaps meet over coffee, or at a Community Concierge event.

Bookmark this website for easy access to relocation guidance, area events, volunteer opportunities, and job listings.

Get the scoop on the best local attractions, restaurants, and activities on our Facebook page Word of Mouth Eastern CT. Ask questions and get recommendations on everything from the best hamburger in town to everyone’s favorite beach, and more.

3. Attend our events

Explore your neighborhood through our facilitated meet-and-greets at destinations throughout the region. Connect with like-minded program participants who share your interests with our diverse hands-on programs.

Keep an eye on our events calendar for the most up to date information. Group outings, such as our Let’s Go Local series, encourage the community to join in, turning new neighbors into new friends. “Connection” events are exclusive to program participants.

Some past events include: Beer tasting and brewery tour at Outer Light Brewing; Yoga class at Hot on Bank; Baking class at Coogan Farm’s community kitchen; and casual Connection events at the Thames Club in New London, and Hard Rock Café at Foxwoods.
